Garretson & Gorodetsky were commissioned by the Los Angeles Public Library to write two songs using text from Herman Melville’s whaling classic as part of a city wide celebration of “Moby Dick.” They wrote two songs: the first from “The Looming” and the second from “The Symphony” which begins with Ahab’s line “let me look into a human eye.” The songs were performed at the Downtown Library and the Broad Stage where Garretson & Gorodetsky were joined by drummer Joe Berardi and tuba player William Roper.
